I usually put the 77 thru 79 750 petcocks on my 1000s and was just on fleabay looking. The OEM ones are around 97ish from Suzuki. Anyway i came across what looks like a flood of cheap cheap cheap petcocks. Heres one i chose to paste. Anyone heard of these differing brands and of thier reliability?

Yep, they're rubbish. They don't seal off when the vacuum is removed because of the weak spring inside.Dave

I just got a new one for my GS1100E, was 90 but oddly it's up to 108 now that I checked back on the Partzilla site. Ouch. After reading all the issues with copies I just went for it and got the original. But I forgot to get new seals for the attachment bolts, dang.Tom

I found the same issue as Grimly had with my Ebay "cheapo"(bought last year)
I thought maybe swap a spring in from an old petcock but it wasn't the same diameter and wouldn't fit in the space allocated for it.
I have to be a little suspicious when so many get dumped on ebay. Perhaps the manufacturer dumped the lot cheap because of a defect.Last edited by Gorminrider; 05-02-2020, 08:44 AM.Comment
