Bad gas or something electrical?

Found it!!!!!
Turns out to be the last place I looked for it. Of course. Was looking everywhere around the steering area and nothing. Last thing done was to remove the starter solenoid just for kicks and with the holding screws removed, I pulled the solenoid away with just a slight pull and I saw that the positive cable had just broken loose from the ring terminal that mounted the cable to the battery.

So now I need to source a new cable. I'm assuming I can pick one up at one of the automotive stores locally?
As a side note, I had suspected bad gas. Well I drained the float bowls 3 times and ended up with some "stuff" that doesn't belong there.

This was from the 2nd and 3rd draining. Don't know what it is but I'm sure it is not combustible......Larry

Here it is. Looks like someone at one time spliced the red wire from the R/R into which I guess is appropriate. So are you saying I can't get one at the local auto stores?
Thanks for the offer.Larry
