The first thing to look for is this white printing on the top fin. If it don't have it, it ain't genuine.
Could read SH775AA or SH775BA, they are the same.
Here's a video that explains more.

OK. I can't clearly tell the difference.
Plan:
do a proper test with my gs RR on gsx whilst looking for a perfecto series RR. Do this with one eye on wiring and locating and connectioning that they share the one working RR. (no.more use of elec tape and use proper shielding for speed of swapping)
I must refrain from having 3 perfectly running bikes for a while. Shame as the GSX liked doing the shopping. The RD now will have to do that for a while.

As an aside, you can prep both bikes to use the new reg rect thus halving the expense. I know if I had a crazy number of Suzukis c. 1980 Id do it.
Yah cant ride em both at the same time and no sane person lets anyone else ride their bike.

hrmmm damn was hoping this would be easy ....
what about from Italy..
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184637855...mis&media=COPY
would they be reasonably legit? I suppose no one can't tell.
q) assume I drank 10 speckled hens, and bought a wemoto RR for my GSX.
How long do they last before this issue arrives?
I am thinking the gsx can suffer a bit as j had to push it miles. the gs however (the one I rode round Europe 5000 miles and you guys saved me when I broke down in Amsterdam) could have a new series one. I might if they fit swap for the gs one.Last edited by ukjules; 05-23-2022, 03:02 PM.

The RR from Electrex won't be a series type, guaranteed.
Best source for them now is used from ebay.com. We used to be able to buy them brand new from Polaris dealers in Europe, but Polaris wised up and put the price up to a stupid level.
However, there are still plenty used ones on ebay.com US, and these things almost never fail, so it's a fairly safe purchase.
Ignore the new ones for 20 or 40 quid, they're nasty fakes, designed to trap the unwary, just like that Elextrex one.
Here's a genuine one...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/392496482363 just as a sample, there are plenty others. Look for the SH-775 on the end view. The real ones are distinctive. Root around ebay.com for Polaris Ranger or SeaDoo rectifiers for the same type. If you're lucky you'll find one a fair bit cheaper and low-price shipping, too.Last edited by Grimly; 05-23-2022, 01:02 PM.

This is almost guaranteed to not be a genuine Shindengen SH775, but a knock-off Shunt type, no better that what you have now.

people who know me on here know I have all the manuals all the tools ...... but suffer very badly at electrical work ......but I get by.
Guys I appreciate the info !!!!
now for the first time I have seen one of these sh775's (the picture) and the excellent and simple wiring diagram made tidy with that triumph connector.
so very easy (for anyone reading if they search the forums)
https://www.electrexworld.co.uk/cgi-...2Ehtml#SID=439
and the triumph connector in uk :
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283376098...mis&media=COPY
so just need to check if i have a lithium ion battery..... I don't on gsx !!!! but do on gs I am sure. (wonder what one does then).
anyone had any luck from one from China?

You really can’t swing a dead cat on the forum and not have read about the SH775 and how to connect it.
Of all of the topics covered on this forum, there has probably been more written about the GS's less-than-perfect charging system and how to fix it than any other topic, along with how to wire a SH775 R/R. Do some searching, read the charging system sorted thread linked in my signature if you like. It's pretty thorough. I would think that the twin bikes wiring is very similar to the fours. But before you get started, get a good wiring diagram and factory service manual, Clymers, or Haynes for your bike year/model. Look for those on BikeCliff's Website, also linked in my signature.
Ed Ness (Nessism)has done us all a favor and dumbed down the SH775 wiring for us.
The Triumph lead for the SH775 is item# T2500676 and is arguably the best method of connection to the RR, Save for the experts who use fancy potting goo from the aerospace industry. Just cut off the ends opposite the RR connections and wire as the above diagram shows.

Best replacement = SH-775. Just search that term on here for loads of info. They're not always easy to find in the UK, An adequate alternative is an old Honda r/r, as fitted to Honda Super Dreams and others from that era. https://gsarchive.bwringer.com/stora...eplacement.pdf
