    Problem with turn signals

    Hello all,

I need some advice on where to start my diagnostics.

Problem: Turn signal indicators work intermittently at operating speed (ie >20 mph).

    Symptoms:
    1) All signals works fine parked with ignition on and engine off
    2) At normal operating speed, if i simply click the turn signal switch and release, nothing happens
    3) Ive found that, at normal operating speed, if i push and hold the switch in the far left/right position, the turn indicator will work (blink). However, if i release it, it stops.
    4) Also, in the situation where i click left/right at operating speed (ie nothing happens), once i slow to a stop, the indicator starts to work.
    5) All other electrical works fine. Headlight, brake, running lights, dash, etc. No burnt out bulbs.
    6) Battery is brand new and aftermarket serial R/R installed. Both have been tested and are working optimally.

This "feels" like it has something to do with the self cancelling circuit, but i want to get input from the group before i go down a rabbit hole doing diagnostics.

Also, ive got a parts bike that i can swap out parts (ie turn signal relay, etc).

When parked, all of the indicators work fine with bright illumination. Also, the indicators on the dash work fine as well.

Can someone offer a suggestion (or point me to a link) of where to start the diagnostic process?

    Many thanks!!

    Darrell

It "sounds" like a bad connection. Beyond that try BikeCliff's Website and failing there try a search:
There are 87,000 + posts in the electrical section and 8000+ threads, just one of which is 4 or 5 down( https://www.thegsresources.com/_foru...nging-the-bits)
