Electrical ignition install. Can't find timing marks on engine case.
I am installing a Dynatek ignition kit on a GS850. The ignition works fine, but I am not able to correct the timing since I can't see any timing marks on the engine case. I have linked to a photo below, please ignore the magic marker.

The mark that you are looking for is on the ignition plate, that has been removed. I don't know but....... maybe the Dyna should have a plate????
You can find TDC on the number 1 piston by removing the spark plug and putting a dowel in the hole while you turn it over by hand. Just make sure that the valves are closed so it will be on the compression stroke.Last edited by 1978GS750E; 09-11-2022, 08:40 PM.Ron
