SH775 , I thought were good price, but maybe not.

I thought the SH775 was a good upgrade (cuz is series type) and good price.

I know to be aware of one’s advertised as replacements for sh775 that are not sh775 (and probably not series).

what I am finding the those that are actually SH775 (see the lettering on side) are $175.
    Any comment?

Links, Dave. Links, please. The days of the $40 used SH775 on ebay may be behind us. I haven't looked in a while. $175 could very well be the going rate for a new one.

Did a quick look on ebay for Polaris Regulator used, and found this one used one on ebay for $50.

As usual, it looks like it came out of a swamp.

Ed, I did also see that one that you linked for $59.99. Description says it’s a “stock image”. Maybe a red flag, maybe not. I like to see images of the actual item.

Good catch Rich. Given that, I'd give that unit a pass.

Cheap ones still pop up regularly. Here’s one for $39 shipped.. the eBay item number is 354268338401

also when searching for sh775s, search for part numbers 710001103, 4012941 and 710000908. Those all correspond to SH775s but be aware that sometimes fh010s show under those part numbers so make sure they’re labeled as sh775s. Most sellers don’t take pictures of that end of the regulator so you’ll have to ask if it says FH010 or sh775.

                  .
Good deal! Just for fun I did a search of just one of the Polaris part no.'s. for that unit. Must have been one of their newer ones, 2017, on. --$229.99 !! I recall that they were $44. new from Polaris perhaps 6 or 7 years ago. I suppose that they saw so many going out the door and jacked the price up to over $100.US. I'm not sure what the larger SH847 50 amp model goes for now. Roadster cycle sells a whole SH847 kit with cables, etc. for $239. I think he sources then from Suzuki, who has used them on some bikes for several years. Like the 1000 V-Strom. I installed a used SH775 from ebay a couple of years ago. It had all the right clues. I paid $60., which was top dollar I think for a used one. Haven't touched the stator, but after the SH775 install, charging voltage is the same at idle or 5k rpm. From memory, that is around 14.0v.

I have wondered if Triumph has ever noticed the inordinate number of sales of the R/R harness kits that so many of us have used. If my memory is correct, they were for a much older triple of some sort. Quite reasonable price when I bought one a couple years ago.

Are we certain they're not counterfeit? You can go to Times Square and buy a watch that very clearly says Rolex for $50 (or even $5).

Iirc, Jim posplayer did a check on one (used, genuine) with a clamp ammeter and it exhibited the correct characteristics.
However, that's the only way to be absolutely sure as the fakers are getting better at faking. Not sure why they don't simply fake a decent one with proper series circuitry in it, as it would be just as cheap to make.
