    Gear Positioning Sensor not working

    Guys,
After my complete rebuild, my Gear Positioning Sensor no longer works. I have power and I have tested it all the way down the sensor itself. For example, using a test light when in neutral the test light will work when touching the GPS pad little circle where neutral is.

Question for you guys, I think I am missing a contact point of some kind? Like a little bullet? Here is a picture of the bike itself. Should something be in the GPS hole that makes contact with the GPS pad? 1980 GS1000G

You’re missing the spring and pin that go in the hole.

    part #s 40, 41 here. https://www.partshark.com/oemparts/a.../gear-shifting

Yep, the part that bolts onto that has 6 little holes (contact points) that the pin in the part you're showing makes contact with, as it rotates, to complete the circuit to each indicator light.

Look on the floor. That’s where I found mine. A month after taking the engine out of the frame
