The new version...
Step 1) buy a SH775
Step 2) install SH775 following diagram below
Step 3) check charging voltage. If < 14.0 VDC @5000 rpm, go to Step 4)
Step 4) replace your stator

99.9% chance you’ll end up doing what Nessism has suggested anyway. You could read the stator papers and maybe get a clearer understanding of how/why the charging system on your GS (doesn’t) works, but so many of us have ended up with a new stator, an SH775 R/R, cleaned up connectors and grounds, that it’s hardly worth thinking any more about it. Unless you just enjoy some light reading.Rich
