    Update :
I was fortunate as a small slither of the back of the magnet has come off but remained on the metal starter internally.
So a thin layer areldite and it snapped into I hope exactly the same position easily.

I will bench test tomorrow .
    - all on if areldite will hold
    - if it not too high / pronounced now thus touching middle thing.

I'd still like to know what we all do about when these starters pack up ?
    What do we do ?

      Update - Success !!

      Intro-
Starter only occasionally started if tapped it.
When removed it was semi covered in black soot and gunge and one magnet loose.

      Method - as suggested
      - I cleaned all with brake fluid
      - Cleaned magnet and magnet area with brake fluid / nail varnish (I oddly had some under the sink) / isopropyl.
      - Used areldite epoxy rapid glue. Thin layer and slipped
Into same position it should be. Left overnight.
      - This morning . Put together , bench tested , works fine !!

      Conclusion-
      - Don't tap or the magnets may come off !!

      Concerns-
      - I hope the areldite holds
      - There must be similar or even Chinese ones that are similar ? It's a real concern - what happens when we can't fix these ? I.e if like me the magnets when re glued may not hold.

Thanks all. (Hoping to go round Scotland on the bike this summer)

Congrats, glad things worked out. Hope it lasts as long this time as it did the first. but that's pretty optimistic thinking ain't it?
