Starter Motor Probelm

Am fixing up a GS 250 T, and had a strange thing happen: Put in a new battery, and the starter motor ran constantly as soon as the battery was connected. Kill switch, key position, nothing mattered. PLEASE HELP!

test starter solenoid or check it's connections

If you do need a starter solenoid go to your local hardware store in the lawnmower dept. Check the cables as mentioned..

Thanks a lot, gang. It is the solenoid. Probably should have thought through the issue a bit more, but the age of the internet has made me lazy . . . Great resource, and I appreciate the quick help!
