    CDI Color Wires?

I have a 79 GS750 with a 997cc motor. 2 wires on my CDI broke off so I was going to try to soldier them back together. Anybody know which side the green wire goes on? The green and blue wire are coming from the timing device on the right side of the motor.

Also, if I am not able to fix and have to order another one. Do I need the exact same part #, 32900-45411? Will a 750 or 997cc CDI work?

    Thanks for the help.

You say you have a '79 750, your sig says it's an '81.

None of our bikes have a "CDI", but they do have electronic ignition if they are 1980 or newer.

If your bike is a '79, the electronic ignition would be aftermarket or adapted from a newer model.

Can you clip jumper wires from the loose wires to the terminals? Try it one way. If it starts, you got it right. If it doesn't, reverse them.

What is this "CDI" thing called than? The bike is an 81, I think the motor is a 79. Will I blow anything or mess up the timing if I jumper the wrong wire?
