    Starter button

I have a GS1100 E 1981 that I can't get the starter button to work anymore. I cleaned the button, still nothing. It will start if I jump the solenide. I tried searching how to test the button and I saw where someone said you could test it at the small wire at the solenide. Is that correct? Thanks. Can you still get a new button assembly?

It may actually be your SOLENOID thats bad...not the starter. By jumping the solenoid, you're bypassing it...
