    NEW instrument bulbs

This has probably been covered but I'm too excited to search.
My tach and speedo seemed dim at night and I thought one bulb was burnt out. So bright guy here decides to dis-assemble, clean the bulbs and the contacts....well, out of 4 bulbs, I buggered 3 completely

So, I didn't bother putting them back in and off I go today to Napa.
The originals are 3 watts and I was dubious when I could only find 2 watt bulbs. Let me tell you, these 2 watters are FAR better than the ones I had in the cluster. Much brighter!
So....for those of you who need bulbs the (Canadian) part number is, 17131 (description, "miniature lamps").
Can't wait to take a ride in the dark. Whoohoo!

Nice. There was a thread about this recently, IIRC sources were listed for here in the States.

          Hi,

That bulb is also known as a "T4W".

          Nice find! Thanks for sharing!

          Thank you for your indulgence,

The original might have been a #53.

I recognize it because that's the bulb I use in my test light.

              theres these too

i need those damn grain of wheat bulbs, Suzuki sells them for some stupidly hi price and all the part numbers I've run across are out dated. So I THINK I'll try my hand at some led/resistor soldering and make my own. If it works out I'll tell ya.
