gs 1000 stator swap

is it true i can use a kz 550 stator in my 78 gs 1000, and it will work, and if so, do i need to use the kz regulator as well?, thanks

Hi,

Electrosport sells the same part as fitting for both bikes. You don't necessarily have to use the KZ r/r unit.

I bought a Kz stator off of ebay, and it was slightly larger (0.050") outside diameter than my electrosport stator. It did fit just closer. Chef1366 has been runnining one in his GS1100L and has had good luck with charging at least using a Honda R/R.
