no spark missing guages

Ok here it is I just got a 1985 gs550. And it has no spark. But is missing the guage cluster. Will it run with out it. Is this the start of my problem.

it is a very bad sign for a 83-86 GS550 to not have spark

On my GS450, it ran perfectly fine without the gauges. And on my GS450, I wasn't getting spark because of a dirty electrical connection. Go get some electronic cleaner and spray it on every electrical connection. See if that does anything.

his model is know for having igniter problems.
there's quite a few of these models floating around in mint condition and no spark.
