battery question

I just put a sealed no maintenance battery in my 83 1100e question is what do I do with the battery sensor so that the light goes out on the insterment panel thanks

I just put a sealed no maintenance battery in my 83 1100e question is what do I do with the battery sensor so that the light goes out on the insterment panel thanks

You can connect the gauge side of the wire to +12V the light will go out. Just to be safe if you still have the old battery cut off the resistor wire and put it in series with +12V.

Gauge-> resistor->battery+12V

The other was is to dis assemble the gauge and take the bulb out but that can be a pain.
