right front blinker always on?

ever since i got a new battery (cuz i let the old one freeze during the winter) my right front blinker stays on whenever the bike is on. even when i have the blinker on left it still stays on. not flashing but thats because i need a new flasher. anyone know the reasoning for this? say screw it unplug them and use hand signals?

You can either ride the bike around in circles all the time or take the switch assembly apart and figure out what's going on. I suspect it will be pretty easy to figure out, once you get in there and take a look. The switch assembly is pretty primitive so it may be very apparent. While you've got it apart, clean all the contacts thoroughly.

I would guess that the part about the new battery is purely coincidental.
