Positive wire from R/R to battery??

Has anyone ever run a wire from the positive output of the R/R to the battery. I have read many posts regarding the negative and running a wire to the battery negative but can't seem to find much on the positive. Does the R/R positive output have to go to the harness or can it go to the harness with a second wire going to the battery positive? Would this gum up the works, boil the battery?? Thanks for any insight!! Ride safe.

Lots of folks have done this- but you must add an inline fuse for safety. Don't lose sight of fact that r/r output is mostly going to power the bikes power needs ( ignition, lights, etc.) with any leftover to keep battery charged.
