    -79' xs650 special- alright i've almost got the electrical system renewed on a friends bike with a new harness and a few odds and ends. but i went to re-attach the rectifier and found the groun








    Some Radio Shack rectifiers and a Chrysler regulator. All for about $20.
    You would be much better off with the Honda R/R, unless you are looking for an education

        There are those of us who believe the R/R is the cause of failure of the stator. I would truly hesitate to try to save $25 and risk a $150 stator.
        I would also be concerned about the lack of cooling fins on that regulator.

            The regulator you are considering building is for a field regulated alternator and not the shunt regulator type used on the GS. They are not interchangeable unfortunately.
