    Flasher question

My bikes a 79 GS1000L, finally got all of the wiring chaos figured out from the previous owner but now the flasher is out of it, so will I need to get the NOS block style flasher from Suzuki or is it okay to go to an auto parts store and get the round style flasher? If someone can help me out Id appreciate it very much I want to get it figured out tomorrow morning right away!!! Thanks

If your bike has self-cancelling signals and you wish to keep that feature, you will not find any unit at any auto parts store that will work.

However, you do not need to get a new one from Suzuki, as they are prohibitively expensive.
Many here might have an extra one, or you can verify exactly what you need and start searching eBay.

I think Cliff Mr BassCliffBikeCliff had something about\replaciong stock flasher with generic autoparts store flasher.

      << later note
      Yep.

But that is for an 80 GS850G, with a 3 prong relay unit.

... and there were some electrcial design changes from 79 to 80.....

          How about this

A two prong flasher unit, says stock, and list your 79 GS1000L
