    Starter solenoid clicking.

    I have a 1981 GS850 (not the 1983 that I first thought)

When pressing the starter button the solenoid clicks - the starter motor does not turn over,

I have cleaned all the ground wires (earth's)

I have searched other posts but I am confused as to which wires I need to "jump" to check if the soleniod or the starter is faulty.

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have a multimeter? When solenoid clicks, does battery voltage drop? If not, juice isn't getting to starter motor- either solenoid is bad or starter is not taking it. Personally, I remove the large wire going from solenoid to starter and touch it briefly to battery positive- others consider this abuse, but it's a quick and dirty method of assigning blame.
