What's too low of ohm rating for new coils?

I've search this sub-forum, and didn't find an answer.

I'm assuming that lower ohm coils are the best choice, so would it be OK to go with 1.5 ohm coils on my 650?

I ask because it warns not to buy lower ohm coils than stock, or it will burn the new coils up.

The stock coils are about 4-5 ohms.

Those black coils will work but most GSR members go with the green 3 ohm coils to go with their otherwise stock Suzuki electronic ignition.

Make sure you have good voltage feeding the coils - should be near battery voltage otherwise the coil relay mod is recommended. Also, when installing coils like that you need to use either resistor type wires or resistor caps (like stock) but not both.

OK, well that's what I was asking it says to not use a different ohm rating than the stock coils.

I bought these wires; http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=209 , so I'm guessing I need to cancel the order and find some resistor wires.

A lower-resistance coil will let more current through it. The ignitor may be overloaded, trying to handle the extra current. Stick with the stock-ish 3 ohm coils.

The wires you chose are OK, as the stock wires are non-resistive. Just get the resistor-type NGK plug caps.
