I keep reading on Motorcycle websites about people that put all their faith in the recommendations of Techs they call up and I just roll my eyes.
You would think these people have never bought anything from an auto parts store after taking recommendations from a minimum wage sales clerk.

Still is nonsense. One dummy load test shows little proof. This whole thread could have been started just to give the dummy load test some credibility.OH NO ROB, did your Friend burn down the block?????

Thanks Rob, finally some sanity; we have had a couple of members here that think that this is all nonsense and that there is no purpose or reason for dummy load testing.

Well, lets recap.
battery going dead. R/R has .6v and infinit so diode is working. Stator test 90vac from all leads @ 5k rpm. Stator tests no ground short. Phoned tech and we are told the stator and the regulator are good. Again, battery going dead, something is bad.
Do a load test on stator, hey, stator is bad. Problem solved, bat is now charging. Hmmmm.
Might not prove anything but the battery is not going dead after switching out the good stator so I don't care really.Comment
