Now, you all are going to laugh, but I bought my bike in 2000 with a Walmart Everstart in it. I finally replaced it in 2007 with another Everstart and it's still going strong. Granted, it's in a heated basement in the winter with a trickle charger on it.
I check the level maybe once in the summer and again before the riding season starts. But heck, for less than 40 bucks, I can't complain.

Haha I'm the same way...$40 and it lasts me a year or two at least.
The acid is a little weak, but if you prep it correctly, they last pretty long.

Usually wal-mart will pay you $5-9 for dead batteries, not sure on the policies anymore.

I think they pay $5 now. I really wanted to get away from lead acid batteries to a spill-proof model. Gels are O.K. but outdated technology. I only got a year or two out of the two Walmart batteries I purchased. My first AGM battery lasted 7 years. I now have one in each bike, a MotoBatt.

I was not aware that they paid you anything.

When I got a battery at Wal-Mart, they charged me extra for not bringing in the old battery, then refunded that when I brought the old one in.
Do you mean to tell me that if I have a small stash of old batteries, they will actually pay me for them?

I think you're right Steve. It's like a core charge. Give them the dead one and there's no charge, otherwise, it's 5 bucks.

I'll know soon enough how good it is I guess...

At least it is a Gel battery. Better than a standard lead-acid battery.

Yes very true. It looked good to me, but previously I've only ever used Yuasa...

Here's one to ignore, turns out the auction wording is incorrect and it's not even maintenance free let alone gel... they would've done the right thing and refunded me if I wanted to do that, but I need a battery now...

Looks like the battery Walmart sells.
