    Spark plug cap

    Hi guys,

I have a 1979 GS550L and one of my outer cylinder spark plug caps broke, and I am having trouble finding a part number to get a replacement. Any idea where I can get one?

    Thanks for any help

Here ya go, one of the hidden gems on BassCliff's site:

    Spark Plug Cap Replacements
    thanks to Ms. SqDancerLynn1

For replacing the stock caps use 2 each - NGK XB05F and VB05F.

Cut off a small slice (1/4 inch) of the end of the plug wire and screw in the new plug caps. This makes a good connection with fresh (uncorroded) wire.

The part numbers above work on my 1980 GS850G. For a full explanation of NGK plug cap part numbers see: http://www.sudco.com/spark.html
Just replace them all. I used the same part #'s on my 82 GS550L and they fit great.

As far as "where" to get replacement spark plug caps: about any mo'cycle shop carry the NGK plug caps, doesnt not have to be Suzuki. These caps are fairly generic, used on many mo'cycles. Cost about $5 or less each.

Yup! Just ordered some. I think there were just under $4 a pop.
