    GS1000 Reg/Rec

Hi all I have a GS1000 with an L model wiring loom, the loom should have a seperate regulator rectifier according to the wiring diagram, however my bike only has a combined unit, how do I wire a single unit into the wiring loom, my unit has one red and one black wire coming from it. Many thanks Wayne

Has it not got 3 yellow wires on it as well? Or white / blue, white / green.

The R/R should bypass the factory wiring otherwise you will have problems. Route stator wires directly into R/R, make sure the R/R is well grounded, and feed the power output straight into the fuse block or to the batter with a fuse in-line. Using the factory wiring is almost sure to cause problems due to the crappy head lamp stator wire loop (check the archives if you don't know what I 'm talking about).

        Hi,

There's a wiring diagram on the electrical page of my little website. If your r/r unit does not have a "sense" wire, disregard that connection. Read the Stator Papers for more background and information. If you connect the r/r output directly to the battery, be sure to install an inline fuse. I use a 15 amp mini blade fuse.

        Thank you for your indulgence,

Here's apicture of the two wires that come out of my combined reg/rec, I'll see if I can work out how to wire it into the bike.

Red is positive power output, black is ground.

                15 Amp should be enough.

Don't you have the two red output style Shindengen- one direct to battery and one to harness?
