Any experience with Niche Stators?

Hi,

Looking for a stator replacement for GS450GA. Need some advice on whether the one I came across on ebay will work, and also any experience with the manufacturer.

The item is listed and described as:

"NEW! KAWASAKI GS450 STATOR GENERATOR 1982-1988
This is a brand new stator assembly. All standard built Niche Stators are manufactured to produce 20% more watt output then your stock stator."

The ebay listing states that the equivalent OEM numbers as
"SUZUKI GS450 1983 31400-45020, 31400-45030"
On a different site, these OEM numbers appear to be associated with the GS300L.

Moreover, information from the Suzuki parts fiche states that the OEM number for the 1983 GS450GA is:
32800-33401 (replaces 32800-44130)

The vendor's ebay account name is partdiscounter located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.

So, again, do you know if the part would work and anything about the quality of this particular product?

If you're in LA then Caltric (also an eBay seller, located in So. Cal.) can get you a stator in a couple of days for about $90. I'm currently using one of theirs and it's doing OK. Rick's Electrics are my favorite stator but I wanted to try something new this time.

This is likely BS, as the real only way to get more power output is more windings (good luck cramming them in there) or a better conductor than copper wire (also good luck). You said your current stator gave 60 volts during AC tests which is acceptable- I'd be opting for different R/R before I gave up on this stator.

Thanks for the advice. Really hard to separate the truth from BS. I have decided to go ahead to replace both the stator and R/R (a better R/R than the one I bought so far).
