    regulator and rectifier

    hi ihave a 1979 gs 1000 with seprate R/R and the rectifier is knackered . should i go for a new rectifier or go the single R/R route.cheers for any advice.

    Single is the only way to go. Shindengen R/Rs are preferred, and are very inexpensive when purchased used.
    Since you used the word "knackered" you are suggesting you are not in the US. Where are you located?

          Very easy. The 3 stator wires are connected directly to the R/R (yellow), bypassing Suzukis headlight loop. The ground (green) goes to, well, ground. The sense wire (black) goes to a 12V wire, and the output (red) gets fused with a 15-20A fuse and goes directly to the battery. Easy peasy.
