HT lead removal from coil

I'm sure this has been asked before but can't find a thread....how do you take the HT leads out of stock coils on a GS1000EN (photo below)? The cable looks like it has been sealed in, I have new cables to put on that have a standard push in fitting on the end with a rubber boot/cover

Good question, just bought new boots, but the wires need replacing also, and new coils aren't in the budjet yet.

You remove the epoxy surrounding the HT lead and dig the remains out with a pick. The coil has a small post in the center of the hole where the HT lead pushes (screws?) onto. Be aware of it when digging out the remains.

cheers for that...and here's me thinking is would just be a simple old out new in lol
....I now know why the guy sold me the new wires cheap...he said he had changed is mind about putting them on....lol

7mm, but don't hold me to it.

I used 7mm when I replaced mine and it fit perfect!

Sure, it's lots of work but well worth it. It cured my engine miss & new Dyna wires were something like $17.00 shipped from Z1.
