83 gs750e wont start

i had to jump start it this morning took it for a 30min ride came back to the house to grab the cell phone,went to startt it to take off now nothing.start acts like it wants to turn over but it wont and when i push the starter button the dash lights dim a little, batt is at 12volts any help would be nice

You say you had to jump it, or do you mean pop start it? because if it will turn over jumping from another battery , sounds like yours only gets a surface charge and in other words is junk. Have you checked the stater pages and your charging system? A little research and you'll get it straightened out.
