    Separate regulator and rectifier?

I looked up this number 32500-45011 and it refers to a OEM regulator.
I also have what looks like a RR, but I'm guessing is just the rectifier.
Is this common on a 78 gs750? Or do I have it all wrong?
The PO has cut and spliced wires all over this bike.

    Here's a picture of what I have.

Yes they were separate on the earliest GSes.

How does that affect the r/r replacement instructions?
I'm assuming a Shindengen will still work on this bike.
Everything looks so different than what I've seen in the guides I've downloaded.

Wire it up so it's the same as the newer bikes.

Thanks for the help. I should be able to manage it now.
I'll be doing the r/r in about two or three weeks.
Just trying to get it all figured out in advance.

Usually a better plan than cutting first and thinking later.

Check out the document on my sig line

I think the Honda RR lines up with the mounts for the larger can with two bolt holes.

I have that file already and found it very informative. Thanks.
I don't remember it mentioning anything of separate R and R, though.
Still, the instructions are relevant and should be a piece of cake.

Mounting the Honda RR in the same location may be a mute point.
I'm thinking of relocating my battery and removing the battery box.
Haven't quite got it all figured out, yet. May put the RR up front, though.
