    Dyna ignition GS425

Is there any way to eliminate my points without buying the $300ish Dyna kit for my bike? Points are a real PITA but not $300 worth...

Hmm... I actually gotta say the Dyna is worth it... gets rid of the points without any extra ignitor box to find somewhere for, just straight from Dyna module to coils.

It also gives nice fat juicy sparks providing your charging system is good and you get nice voltage to the coils.

Alternatively, there might be a Boyer Bransden option around but I have a feeling they may be discontinued...

Otherwise you might be able to retrofit a GS450 signal generator, ignitor, and coils, but the ignitors are becoming rarer and are prone to failure at this age which is why I have a Dynatek on my 450...

There's also a possibility you may be able to retrofit a later GS450 or GS500 setup in, but with the 450 and 500 setups, you'll need to check advance curves as well as physical fit and you'll need all the ignition related components from signal generator to coils to ignitor.

Thanks Pete. The alternative definitely sounds like it could be more expensive and more of a headache in the long run.
