A little over 30 mpg is terrible mileage. I get 42 mpg on a GS1000 with 4-1 pipes pods and a stage 3 jet kit (87 octane regular). As you get the carburetors dialed in and synced you should see better mileage than I am getting. If you haven't changed the boots, you will most likely find you need to. I also noted that you ordered a Kreem tank liner kit. Do yourself a favor and send it back and get a good liner kit. I have never heard anything but nightmare stories about Kreem liner kits (apparently the alcohol in gas dissolves it). Caswells or POR15 have been mentioned as good liner kits.
