Dyna S or Dyna lll ??

    I have one of each.

Which one do you guys think is the better for my 79 550.
4 into 1 Jardine header, Pods, jetted 24mm VM's ... I have Dyna 3 ohm (green) coils and new NGK wires and boots.

Is there a real advantage to the Dyna lll over the Dyna S ??

    TIA ......

Dyna-S, and spring for the 8mm grey Dyna suppression wires, beats the old wires hands down. The Dyna III would be wasted on that bike.

Thanks, kinda what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. I've been messin with GSXR's and Dyna 2000's for years now. Haven't messsed with a Dyna S or Dyna lll since around '04 or '05 on my last GS ... And the NGK are newer race style wires. I believe they are 8mm ....heck I dont remember, I havent looked at them in a LONG time. If they are not 8mm, I will be replacing them for sure.
      Thanks for your answer ...

Sorry, didn't pay any attention to the wires, thought you were using the stock type. Those are most likely fine. I think The Dyna wires are only about $15.00, but couldn't check, Z1 is having problems with their site. The Dyna-S works nicely with the mechanical advance, I don't think the three would be much if a benefit. I know the S works like a champ on my 1000E, and the 550 is a mini version.

Yea, I'll save the Dyna lll in case I pick up a beastie down the road that could benefit from it ....Or just sell it....
