    Coil GS1100 1983

    Greetings.

The stock coils have + and - markings

Does the orange/white wire attach to the + or -?

    Thank you for your time.

Let me look at my pictures and I'll get back with you.

On the left side the + is orange with white stripe and the - is white.

On the right side the + is orange with white stripe and the - is black with yellow stripe.

This is from my 82 1100EZ but I'd think they are the same.

orange and white is switched 12 volts so i assume it goes to the +.
i don't believe it really matters as long as both sides are done the same.

Whats interesting (not to be contrary), is I have some stock surplus coils (older?) prewired and the black/white are connected to 12v, designated on the coil.

That's the reason for my question.

Thank you for your time and efforts.

Orange/White goes to the + side of the coil. Here is a writeup which discusses the reason why: Ignition Coil Polarity
