    Start

My 79 gs850 has been sitting about 2 months up till this point it was running just fine. Went to start it yesterday and I get nothing. If I turn the key midway I get dash lights headlight etc, if I turn it all the way to the next click, start, I get nothing. All lights go out and the starter button does nothing. What should I check?

It sounds like you are turning the switch too far one click is all it should be from the off position. key should be straight up&down for on position. Turning it further turns on the parking- tail light.

That would explain why I dont really remember having to turn it that far before. If that's the case then I guess my problem is that the starter button does nothing...
