    1982 GS550 running on 2 cylinders

So my 1982 GS550 i just put the dyna s ds3-2 ignition system in is only running on 2 cylinders i believe
pipes 1 and 2 are hot and 3 and 4 are not yet they both have spark, bike will run but cant really rev it up at all

also only runs with choke on as soon as you take it off it dies, if you try to give it some gas it dies as well

Sounds as if you have multiple possibilities of wiring issues

Coils fire 1-2 and 2-3, so unless you swapped around the plug wires both of your coils are firing only one of their leads

I think you mean 1-4 and 2-3 fire, which I know and they all have spark....

Then it's not an ignition problem.
Have you tried cleaning the carburetors?

              How did you clean them?

Not very well if they only run with the choke on.

first make sure youre gettin fuel to 3&4. check fuel lines for kinks, check petcock, vacumme diaphram etc. hope this helps.

                  this bike.........
ok so now its getting fuel to all 4 cylinders
carbs have been dismantled and cleaned 4 times now blown out thorougly with air compresser as well, dyna s ignition has been reset 5 times
still only will run with choke on and does not want to rev up at all just bogs out and dies sometimes if i put my finger over the 3rd carb small upper rear holes it will seem to run a lil better and rev up higher on its own but not on any other carb

Blocking the 3rd carb would cause a leaner mixture.
DO you have the airbox installed?

                        Sorry mean to say enrichment

Doing the same with it on eh?

The bike should not run or act the same with its box on compared to off.

                        Airbox on filter in place?

yep, all stock stuff, i had a gs650 1982 earlier this year and it would run and rev up without the air box on it

Well do not despair a guru will come along soon and help yah out.

Oddly my bike will run but barely without its box and filter.

Are the plugs wet on the cold cylinders?
                            Hows the compression?

spent the last hour putting all the air box stuff back on to make sure it was all sealed and nice and tight with no leaks, still runs the same or lack there of
