Huidity messing with electronics?

Hello All,

About a year ago I moved from a desert state (Utah) to a Humid City (Seattle) my bike ran like a champ in Utah but since bringing it here I have been having some intermittent electrical problem that I just can't figure out. Basically the bike doesn't want to spark sometimes when starting, or it will cut out in the middle of a ride and leave me stranded.

I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but I have a theory that the humidity may be playing games with me. Has anyone else out there experienced humidity related problems with the electrical system?

I have most connections soldered, newish plug caps, and a new but used R/R off of a Honda of some kind.

Spray your spark plug wires with WD-40 to see if it gets better.

There might be some fine cracks in the rubber insulation and, yes, humidity will affect them.

If the WD helps, you need new wires.

I suppose that Seattle is humid compared to Utah, but relative most of the country its humidity isn't all that high. The Olympic Peninsula is a bit different.

Have you had your tank off recently? See if you pinched some wires or pulled a harness plug apart a bit.
