On my 81 GS 550L, I am not getting spark, so I'm assuming that its the ignitor which is causing this problem. I'm guessing its not the pulsar because I just got a new DYNA pulsar. I was wondering if, I a ignitor off of eBay that is a different year, only by a year or two, different engine cc size, but the same model number would it work on my bike?

It might work, but I saw a LOT of "assuming" and "guessing" in your post, why not take some measurements and know FOR SURE that the ignitor is your problem?Originally posted by David View Post

Do you even need the ignitor anymore?
I thought that installing a Dyna replaced the need for an ignitor1978 GS 1000 (since new)
