    GS1000 volt meter

    after seeing a few threads where people have fitted a permanent voltmeter to their bike, i decided it was a good idea and could potentially avert an embarresing situation.
    so i got this one off ebay. it looks quite smart sat just below the clocks......

    Nice, a digital volt meter has much more information than an analog gauge. The main range you are interested in is from 12.5v-14.5v which is only a small portion of the typical gauge that goes from 10-18 in a 45 degree sweep. I need to convert my analog gauge using something similar. How is it in the sun? I found I needed to recess the led into a shadow for sun lite visibility

        I like the speedo face too. You should keep it going with:

        120 -> 130 -> 140 -> ? -> Warp 9.5 -> ∞

            That is an excellent price for an enclosed voltmeter. Most at that price range are open and require you to construct an enclosure.

                looks ok to me, fine if you have a cigarette lighter socket!

                  Looks nice, but needs to be plugged into a cigarette lighter outlet, which adds to the length.

                    Bought one of those ... very inaccurate.

                    Bought one of these:

                    and have been able to early diagnose a failing alternator in two cars with it's ability to rapidly show a fluctuating voltage..
