    CDI for 82 GS400t

Turns out the previous owner put a Yamaha CDI box on my bike. Would anyone who own an 82 GS400T be kind enough to post a photo of their unit showing make and model number? Thanks very much.

They didn't sell that model bike in the US. You are going to need one of the Canadian bretheran to help you out with this one.

BTW, your bike doesn't use a CDI. What you need is an Ignitor. CDI's are for dirt bikes.

Sorry thought CDI and ignitor were the same thing. Very new to all of this. Thanks for the heads up.

Take a look at www.cmsnl.com and look for a 1982 GSX400T... that should be your model on there... you'll be able to get the ignitor part number from that.

A rare bird to be sure. It does not appear on the Zedder x-ref dbase.
CSML only seems to have a bike made in the 70s

            I was mistook:

            http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gsx400-1...620/partslist/

is an 81 model note the GSX rather than GS designation. GSX seems to be the model prefix for NON-us MODELS of what we refer to as GS.
            Part number 32900-33220

Turns out the bike does have the original unit. This bike is a bit of an odd duck. Sorry for the goose chase but I do appreciate the help.

                Hey Chipbuddy,

Would you happen to know the part number for the original Ignitor box for your '81 GS400T ?

I'm trying to help a friend find a replacement for his Canadian 1981 GS400T.

It seems someone replaced it once before but they changed the connector so I assume it's not the original OEM ignitor.

                Currently part 32900-47020

Any suggestions for a replacement? So far I'm looking at these part numbers:
                32900-44420
                32900-44510
                32900-47020

                and the one from below:
                32900-33220
