I've been rebuilding my gs450 in a cafesque style. Since im ditching the side panels I was wondering what people have done to hide the wiring. What can be done with a stock wiring harness and as little soldering as possible. I can solder, I'm just not good at it and therefore I'm lazy about doing it. Is there any good way to cut down the harness to get rid of things I don't need?

If you're going to go to the trouble of removing unnecessary bits from the stock harness, you will actually be better off making a new simplified one instead. I think that would yield a better result for what you're looking for.
As for me, I've just cable tied as much as I can in behind frame rails and up under the tank between the frame rails as I can.
It's not spectacular especially seeing as I lose some space due to the larger Dynatek coils, but it's neat enough for me.
Sitting in the back of my mind is still the thought of a custom harness, but if I ever do do that then it can wait until I have my Katana so I can still have a bike on the road while I fiddle.
I have the factory manual here too which has diagrams of all the cable and wiring routing too, just let me know and I can get some photos of the relevant pages for you. -
Same here. When working on mine yesterday I began using black "wrap and zip tie" conduit in combination with hiding behind the rails.Comment
