    Nice, Optical ignition sensors.

Homemade ignition solution for my -82 GS1100E.
Two optical sensors supports two separately ignition systems.
    New standard two coils.

    Niiiiiiice.... !

I used two of this ignition modules:

      BILTEMA 53-2600 ( Scandinavien brand I think.... )
This is a standard universal ignition module, and it is used as a sparepart for older car ignition systems.

Why do you need two modules, if it's designed for cars?

Wow, only three posts and you've figured out the smiley faces!

The story is a little bit longer.
It started with the need of smuth tac signals to the injection system and the Optical solution was a easy way to do it.
Since this engine dont have any ignition distributor, I got to use the origin double coil system and thereby need two separate signals to handle the coils.
So, two simple ignition modules is the easiest way to handle it.

Nice but what on earth are you doing to an '82 GS1100E to require modification of the already electronic ignition. Injection? As in fuel injection...oh brother

This thread has promise. Love the homebrew ignition.

Please post more on this interesting project.

                  What's wrong with fuel injection?

Sounds like an interesting project, keep us posted.

Nothing, fuel injection is great...to convert a 31 year old bike to fuel injection when bikes only had FI for the last decade is as tedious and beneficial as re-inventing the wheel.

That and everyone is customizing their old bike by making it FI, typically with a megasquirt and some donor parts. As unique as it seems, it's not unique when everyone is doing it and even writing up basically a how-to for everyone else that wants to do it.

If someone replaced their mechanical advance with electronic, would you be in aw or would you asking, "Why?" That's where I am on injecting old bikes.
