In a bind
My ignition switch is failed, the key won't turn it. I had a locksmith out and I was able to remove the switch, but they cannot make a key for it that works. My bike is not in the best spot, and I want to 'hotwire' the connector, which two wires do I connect to start it? I sure hope someone can help me out!Tags: None -
Go to the fuse box, locate the MAIN fuse. Run a jumper wire from one of the legs over to the IGNITION fuse (probably right next to the MAIN fuse). Push the starter button, ride.

Thanks for the answers. It's funny, that on my way back to the bike, I thought about the switch and what it did, that it would not have a ground, it was just closing circuits. So I cut off the pigtail to the switch and connected all the ends and the light came on and I could start it right up. I just pulled it out when I got home.
Thanks again.Comment
