    gsxr 7 wire r/r wiring help

    im giving my buddy a gsxr 7 wire r/r sunday...his bike is over charging, its an 81 gs1000

    i have no idea how to wire this r/r heres the colors i have

    3 solid black wires on one plug (i assume stator)
    2 black/red strip and 2 black/white stripe on the other plug

      Does the gsxr have a alternator? If so I don think it will work.

        Good point- alternator would have built in R/R!

          The 3 blacks are the stator wires as you figured.Black/white are grounds and the black/red are hot.

            yep, 3 blacks to generator, 2 bl/wh join together and connect to ground, 2 bl/red join together and go to red on fuse box
            1978 GS1085.

                  sorry guys, it came from a wrecked 07 600...no alternator...i think the above info is all i need

                    just for future reference the above info works for wiring...bike went from over 20v to 14.8 or so at 4k rpm
