both left blinkers quit 79 gs1000E

hello to all was noticing my left turn signal was acting weird the past few weeks this Saturday it stopped working all together . i turn on the right blinkers and they work and flash fine also the indicator light in the gauges works also but when i turn on the left blinker all i hear is a click come from the control box by the battery and no blinkers or the indicator light come on . have checked wiring and found no shorts anywhere .

    any info appreciated

does that bike have a self-cancelling turn signal? if so the turn signal control unit could be toast. or you could just have a bad bulb.

if it has a beeper than it's probably the latter.

Very common problem with that model bike. TSCU most likely failed.

well the tscu is usually very expensive, if you can even find one. i got lucky a while back and snagged one cheap on ebay. but i wouldn't count on that. most used ones an ebay end up not working either.

i know some one on the gsr has had to rewire and may be able to help you with that.
