Indicator wiring issue

I am restoring a 1978 GS1000E and it is almost complete however I cannot seem to get my head around the wiring loom within the headlight in order to connect the replacement indicators.
I have joined the two black/white wires to the connector but am left with two black wires ( one from each indicator )
My issue is that the wires left unconnected inside the headlamp area are different colours from that on the diagram.
Does anyone have a solution or even better a photograph of a completed job so I can use as a template.

The 2 black wires if I`m not mistaken are ground wires. One for each side. I`m sure someone with a little more smarts will chime in shortly. Just remembering from when I removed my old Vetter fairing. Also check out this link and you can probably download your wiring diagram. Welcome to the site. Oooops. Here`s the link.

Lg (light green) is for the right front signal and B (black) is for the left front signal.
B/W (black with white tracer) is ground.

Headlamp wires

The orange and white are for the front brake light switch which is now working

I believe the green wire as stated is for the front right indicator but what are the blue and red/black wires for

You do mean Black with red and Blue with red correct?

Speedometer distance sensor (reed switch).

Not knowing your experience and knowledge I don't want to insult but I find it helps a lot when working on circuits to have a circuit test probe for finding your "live" lines.
They're available at most auto stores and places with a tool section for a couple of bucks and one of the best tools in the 'armory".

If you get the wiring diagram to refer to and poke with the probe you will soon get an understanding of what goes where.

Electric stuff can definitely be a head scratcher, even when you have a half an idea of what's going on but have this tool along with a good digital multimeter and you'll soon be able to fix most things you'll encounter.

I can do most things but electrical stuff just fries my brain, I have a multi meter and can test for voltage and continuity etc but only just get bye

These clocks I posted a picture of are from a 1978 GS1000E.

If you don't have those extra two wires, then the gauges you have are used on a base GS1000 without the self cancel turn signals.
