    Bad stator on 80 GS1000G

Just did a static check on the stator and found .7ohms between each leg but .7ohms to grand as well. If I understand it, the stator is toast.

Any suggestions on the most cost effective location to purchase a replacement stator?

R/R will be replaced as well. Plan on using the SH775 from a Polaris RZR and rewiring to bypass the "headlight loop".

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

eBay several vendors; pick one. Ricks and electro sport are good. With a series r/r it won't later as much. Elect reports are wound for higher output at lower rpm. All stators will max out to the same power.

take it out and see if something is grounding it out inside. Might not be toast after all
