Starter solenoid suggestions needed.
Because of space limitations on my electrics panel, I'm considering a starter solenoid similar to this one, with the correct spacing (60mm), to possibly use in place of the stock unit.

With a long enough bolt to fit through all the tabs with spacers, you could stack 2 side by side stacks of Bosch relays for 120/160 amps capacity.Because of space limitations on my electrics panel, I'm considering a starter solenoid similar to this one, with the correct spacing (60mm), to possibly use in place of the stock unit.

If you really need the studs facing outward, put the screws in from the back and tighten to the mounting plate with nuts. 1 1/2" should do. -
The way the original electrics panel components were mounted.

New panel with the SH775BA mounted in place of the separate regulator and rectifiers and the reason for needing a different solenoid.

Tried overlapping the fuse box with the R/R but it looks too crowded. I might be able to make a strap to move it to the left of the fuse box, but I may end up with the same problem if I do.

Nice idea showing me how yours was mounted. Might have to get me a 1980 electrics panel.
Nice neat solution if I can find one a little narrower.I like these....http://www.texasindustrialelectric.c.../tyco_150A.pdfLast edited by rustybronco; 03-04-2014, 10:17 PM.Comment

Ed,
I know I have had some people that have wanted SSPB's for their Cooley's and I was not sure if the SSPB was a good fit after putting on the SH-775 on. It looks like the Fuse box and SH-775 are pretty close and the SSPB is an extra 0.1" wide ; close but probably not too close. Might have to open the holes just a tad more to slide the SH-775 more to the right but looks very doable and a nice fit.
It does look like the SH-775 would need relocation of the holes to be able to accommodate the OEM connector through; looks like it would interfere with the frame.
