There were no clips in the stock coils.
The wires were epoxied into place.

Looking at the microfiche, it shows the original leads with clips on, but only available as coil and leads together. Just wondered if anyone had ever made any aftermarket clips/leads.Comment

My 85 1150 has clips to hold the wires into the stock coils, and the wires are removable. At least one clip is broken. I rigged a wire tie to secure it. Dont remember exactly how, but its been fine for several years.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Early GS's use the epoxy but last generation bikes had the clips, which break easily. Maybe you could use epoxy like the early bikes? Not sure how well the epoxy would stick though.Ed

That's cool, epoxy should be fine. I was just hoping to use the original retainers. Cheers folks.Comment
